Monterosoli

A place to follow the light, cherish the land, and savor the art of living slowly.

A place with a past

The hillside
of poppies.

That is what Monterosoli means. Built in 1738 as part of Villa Saletta, the farmhouse sits on a hill with sweeping views over the Valdera. Once a working farm, the estate now comprises 8 hectares of unspoiled land, with woodland, vineyards and an ancient olive grove. We acquired the property in 2022 and have gradually restored the house while expanding its agricultural side. We care for our vineyards and olive grove without pesticides or herbicides. Fossils from the Pliocene era are found throughout the soil, reminders of a time when the sea covered this entire area.

From the earth,
with patience.

Our Sangiovese vines are part of the living landscape of Monterosoli. Old vines and a newly planted vineyard mark a commitment to the land, shaped by the Tuscan sun, clay soils and the passing of each vintage.

A harvest of
tradition.

Some 300 olive trees stand across the estate. Their annual harvest is one of the defining rituals of life here—a celebration of simplicity, careful stewardship and the flavor of fresh Tuscan extra virgin olive oil.
