Three gifts of Tuscany

Wine, Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Honey

Made here, shaped by the seasons

Nothing tells the story of a place quite like what it gives.

At Monterosoli, work follows nature's calendar. The vineyard, olive grove and beehives each have their own rhythms, yet they belong to the same hillside. These are the flavors of our farm in Palaia: personal, seasonal and rooted in the land.

Our farming philosophy

No herbicides. No pesticides.
Nature leads the way.

Our wine.

Our vines grow on the hillsides overlooking Villa Saletta, without herbicides or pesticides. We tend both established vines and a young vineyard planted for the future, harvesting by hand.

Our Rosso is a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo. The vineyard faces southwest at an altitude of 110 metres above sea level, on sandy and clay soils from the Pliocene era, rich in marine sediments. We use no herbicides or pesticides in the vineyard. In the cellar, the grapes macerate on their skins for seven days in cement tanks, fermenting spontaneously with native yeasts. The wine then ages for one year in stainless steel before bottling. Our only addition is a small amount of sulfites at bottling.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Across Monterosoli, around 300 olive trees shape the landscape. Like our vineyard, the grove is managed without herbicides or pesticides. The autumn harvest brings friends and family out among the trees, gathering the fruit before it goes to the frantoio.

Fresh olio nuovo is one of the great pleasures of the Tuscan year: fragrant, vivid and best enjoyed simply with good bread and food from the kitchen.

Our Millefiori honey.

Our beehives are part of the life of the podere. As the bees move through flowering plants, trees and the surrounding countryside, they contribute to the richness of the landscape we care for.

Honey is a gift of the season, gathered in small quantities when the colonies can spare it. No two harvests are quite alike.
